Danny`s Drive-In in Stratford

If you're looking for a classic, New England drive-in, this is it. I ate a Carolina dog, Patty melt and onion rings. Everything was fine. I can't say I wouldn't have gotten better food at other nearby establishments. The customer service was great.

Food was not great ,not as ordered !! Yes hamburger deluxe well it was a burger on a bun !! Notji g else on it plus I asked well done!! That did not happen to raw!!! Yes 2 raw

Way expensive,, we tried to figure the bill but couldn’t???? Not enough food, fries& onion rings couldn’t find them in their tray!! What a scam. Never again!

Food was good but a little pricey

Horrible customer service from a really RUDE young woman who was working the counter. On top of that, the food was overpriced and mediocre. Go to Merritt Canteen instead.

Small place but amazing food!! Absolutely love the cheeseburgers and fries. Amazing prices! Beats going to a chain fast food restaurant.

They don't follow proper cleanliness guidelines, and their food is too greasy. They paid my husband his wages in counterfeit money and said they cant take it back cus we could have had that and tried to scam them. Horribly rude people.

I wasn't here. Haven't been in a few years. But they always had great burgers

I got a hot dog with the works, waffle fries, and a vanilla shake. Everything was good, but my bun was super soggy. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because none of the cooks had proper hair coverage for their heads or their beards. Pretty unsanitary...

Gave it one star cause no way to leave review w/o. just left this place with takeout July 5at 730pm......what. a. Friggin DISASTER!!! Took a long time to get food, the order was wrong after having to repeat it numerous times. The crew were all goofing off. The burgers were wrong and gross the fries were burnt and just thrown in the bag ordered two fried only got one order. Stay away!?!!

If you can't find any other place for hot dogs and hamburgers - then stop here!Ain't what it used to be - I haven't seen the owner in years. I understand the place is up for sale, but that's not the reason for the decline in quality, nor the fact that it's staffed entirely by the "snowflake generation" - the place is just tired!

Foods good. Like two weeks ago 2 burgers and a fry were about $12, just went now a paid $14 for the same order. Gave the cashier 2 10s and got about $6 IN ALL QUARTERS...

It was pretty good.

The food was overcooked and the quality was horrible. It has really gone downhill. I'll go to the Cricket instead when I want a hotdog or burger.

Not worth it. I paid $16 for a burger, milkshake and frozen fries that were not even cooked! Also the prices were much higher than the posted prices. I'm sure this always the case as this is the reason I stopped coming here 2 years ago. A mistake to give this place another chance and poor, immature staff too boot. Drive the few extra minutes to somewhere better.

Grew up eating Danny's. Went there tonight on our way home from the breweries however was very disappointed in the service. The girl at the counter was working the counter, the line, and helping the girl with milkshakes. The girl working the milkshake machine had no clue on what was going on. Made extra shakes and then stood there drinking left overs talking to her friends instead of helping the other . Lastly I had order 3 orders of fries with cheese. Tried checking the bag before we left but was getting stared down by the staff while doing it and felt very uncomfortable so left. When we got home we only have one order of fries with cheese. Just hoping I didn't pay for what I didn't get.

Iconic Drive-In! Been going there since 1980 and although ownership has changed the food hasn’t. My go to order - chili dog and cheeseburger with the works.

EVERYTHING is made fresh. Burgers are excellent. Fries fresh and hot. Hot dogs are quality and fresh. Good menu to choose from. Outside seating or eat in vehicle only. Service is fast and friendly. Onion rings are good too also fresh.

Just delicious food with that feeling of a road side hotdog and hamburger stand on the side of the road. Only at Danny's the food is pretty much guaranteed to be excellent. My only (small) complaint is that it is a little pricey. There really is no seating inside as Danny's is a very small "house". There is a bar style seating area but it's to small and crowded to really sit inside and eat. Outside they have a few picnic tables but you will either eat in your car or take the food home. If it's a nice day the outdoor picnic tables will do just fine.

Basic food, but they do it well. You want a burger or dog w/ 1 topping? This is the spot. Not much seating (and none inside), but good spot. And fried seafood is good too

Danny's isn't cheap but then I don't care for cheap eats. If you get what you pay for, Danny's is a great example of that saying. The food is a taste experience for burgers and dogs, and the lobster roll is amazing. Sure it's a budget buster but as a treat it is well worth stopping by for one of the best dogs in the Northeast. The Kuhn's really puts some zest into the dogs and you can't beat the crisp snap of Danny's dogs!

This place is convenient and it has good food. It has been here a long time.

Bad service took 30 min to get food. Burgers were dry overcooked terrible threw them away forgot the coleslaw fries were not cooked enough. Never go there again.

In town visiting family. Was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely go back.

Neat place. Drove by it for years. Never thought to stop. Was out that way today and got hungry. So glad we stopped. Hotdogs and fries. Delicious. Fresh and hot. Quick service. Inexpensive. The lady was really nice. Will definitely go back.

Burgers and dogs are great!! Milk shakes and malts are the best I've had!!! Fries and rings are very greasy, but still kinda good. Prices are a little high but not too bad.

Evening of 03/18/20, called in a takeout order.Didn't know if I had enough money in my pocket so I asked the girl on the phone how much it was, she said she couldn't tell me until I got there. Asked her why, ...got no answer...Told her that makes no sense....got no answer..Wasted a trip to the ATM because I had enough money after all.. and it was $11.65 for a long dog and fries. Rediculous. Hope management reads this.

Yeah. Well, this place has so many excellent choices. They have been here for decades so they are a landmark in Stratford. I like the crazy horse burger because it is spicy. They use great ingredients and the best rolls.

This place is part of the local flavor and history but it's a bit downtrodden these days. They still serve a mean Hummel's hotdog with the works and hopefully that never changes.

I went there on the Fourth of July the prices were extra jacked up ,three dollars for a piece of cheese smh, they threw my order in the bag and the burgers were so soggy, it fell through the bag and dry fries and never will I ever spend my money here again Merritt canteen way better, Service and food.

Best drive in Connecticut can offer. Chilly cheese dogs are so delicious! Burgers are very very delicious. Milk shakes are to die for!

I have been going there for about 50 yres and the bugers are thicker than they ever were but they still have the same taste somethings never change, thank God you could never get a better burger anywhere in ct

Classic roadside hot dog stand that has been in the same location for as long as I have been around.I got the usual quick service and my meal was ready promptly.The two hot dogs I had were great.They have made it easier on everyone by just having one size soda .... one less decision to make!I enjoy eating here more often than my doctor and my trainer would like.
